Safe Sanctuary

Safe Sanctuary policy and Sunday morning procedures:
We strive to provide a safe, secure, and loving environment for your children. We invite you to read our safety policies and become familiar with them, so we can partner with you in maintaining a "Safe Sanctuary" at Faith Community. This information will serve as an introduction to the policies we have in place to care for your child. A complete list of policies is available upon request.

Purpose of Safe Sanctuary Policies:
The purpose of our Safe Sanctuary policy is to help ensure the physical and emotional safety of our children, staff and volunteers so the good news of Jesus Christ can be effectively shared.

Health & Sickness Policies:
If your child is ill, we ask that you keep your child at home. If your child is being treated with antibiotics, he/she should be on the drug for at least 24 hours before coming to church. A child should be temperature
free for at least 24 hours before coming to our classrooms.

Safe Sign-in & Check-out Procedures:
(for our Children’s Church - Nursery-6th grade)
All children who attend Sunday morning activities at Faith community are signed in and out using a security tag system. There are three sign-in tables, one at each entrance to our education wings. Parents complete a tag for each child, putting the name tag portion on the child and keeping the security number piece of the tag to present when picking up the child. If a spouse or older sibling is to pick up your child, please make sure that they have the security number piece to give to the teacher.

Parent Pager System
We have a Parent Pager System available. Those dropping their children off in the Nursery will be handed one when you leave your child. For those with older children, please feel free to pick one up at the Child Drop off counter further down the hall past the Nursery. Please remember to sign one out and then return it when you pick up your child.

If your child is new to the classroom or not on the attendance list, we ask that you complete the registration form below before you leave your child.

Check-out Procedure
• When you come to pick up your child, please have your ID number tag ready. If you have lost the tag or misplaced it, and the teacher is not familiar with you, photo ID will be requested.
• If an older sibling is to pick up your child, please make sure that they know where to meet you so they will not be unsupervised in the hallways.

Early Drop-off and Late Pick-up
We do not have the staffing to be able to provide this service. Please drop-off your child no earlier than fifteen minutes before the service begins. Please pick-up your child as soon as your Worship Service/Sunday School class ends. If you arrive and the teacher is not in the room, please do not leave your child unattended in the classroom.

Snacks
Since many children have allergies, we do not have a weekly snack. It is your responsibility to make sure that any teachers are aware of life threatening allergies. There are RED allergy stickers on all hospitality tables. Please use them as needed.

Fire and Severe Weather Procedures
• When a fire alarm sounds, the building will be evacuated
• All children will be escorted away from the building with their class
• Children will be removed from the building in case of a fire. Parents should not attempt to go to their child’s classroom during a fire emergency
• During severe weather, the children will be led to a designated safe area. Parents should find their own shelter and not attempt to go to their children.
