Cub and Boy Scouts

Cub Scouts Pack 990
Cub Scouting is a year-round family program designed for boys who are in the first through fifth grade. Parents, leaders and organizations work together to achieve the 10 purposes of Cub Scouting:

Character Development
Spiritual Growth
Good Citizenship
Sportsmanship and Fitness
Family Understanding
Respectful Relationships
Personal Achievement
Friendly Service
Fun and Adventure
Preparation for Boy Scouts

Faith Community has sponsored Cub Scout Pack 990 for more than 35 years and this partnership has flourished due to the shared focus of spirituality and character development.

Cub Scouts are organized into packs and dens:

The Pack is a meeting of all involved boys and their families…on average, there are 50-65 boys in the pack.

The Den is a smaller, grade-specific group of 8-10 boys. Dens work on activities and achievements.

Schedule
Cub Scout Pack 990 meets on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in Faith’s Community Room. Weekly den meetings are scheduled by the individual leaders. Speak to anyone who was a Cub Scout and he will be able to tell you about his pack, his den leader and probably the best pine wood derby car he ever built. Cub Scouting stays with you for life.

Boy Scouts Troop 990

The Scouting program provides many opportunities for young men to learn skills and participate in terrific adventures.

Boy Scout Troop 990 recognizes achievements by awarding badges of rank, the highest of which is Eagle Scout. Each rank prepares boys to be better campers, hikers and scouts.

Troop 990 provides an action-packed year with activities including backpacking, orienteering, bike trips, fishing, campouts, caving, scuba diving, canoeing and hiking. To become a Boy Scout, boys must have completed 5th grade, or earned the Arrow of Light Award or be between 11 and 18 years of age.

Schedule
Troop 990 meets every Monday from 7-8:15 p.m. at Faith Community. In addition, we have one weekend adventure per month and participate in 3-5 community service projects each year.

Upon joining, scouts become a member of a “patrol”…a group of 3-8 boys led by a patrol leader.

With Boy Scout Troop 990, there’s a lot of fun, friendships and adventures waiting for you.
