Evangelism -
Our Mission
Encourage,
equip and enable ourselves and others to pave the way for the lost
to be found in Christ.
The Evangelism
team helps the church body further develop the skills and abilities
to share our faith with others. Through training programs, tools and
opportunities we strive to help everyone fulfill the Great
Commission of Jesus as described in Matthew 28:18-20.
Evangelism is really about planting seeds, but these seeds can mean
the difference between life on earth and life everlasting. As Rick
Warren said in The Purpose-Driven Life, “The eternal salvation of a
single soul is more important than anything else you will achieve in
life!” We believe that helping others find their way to Christ is what
purpose-driven living is all about.

Our Mission
“You matter to
God, so you matter to us”
Our First Impressions teams want our guests to feel valued…we want
to recognize the presence of Christ in family, friends, coworkers,
neighbors and complete strangers. This means we would respond to
others as we would respond to the presence of Christ in our midst.
We have one goal: that our guests will see Jesus, and draw closer to
Him. These servant ministries are:
Building Hosts Greeters Ushers Welcome Center Hosts Koinonia Café – Come enjoy a steaming cup of coffee and a freshly
baked cinnamon roll each week!
"Do not neglect to show hospitality to
strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without
knowing it." Hebrews 13:2
New Life - Bread Ministry & Follow-Up Care
Calls Ministries
Our Core Values
To create a lasting impression of
shared Christian love with our guests.
"Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has
welcomed you, for the glory of God."
Romans 15:7
The
Bread Ministry visits Faith Community newcomers within a calendar
day of their first attended service. During the visits, teams of two
answer any questions, provide information, identify any specific
needs and offer an invitation to join the fellowship of Faith
Community.
Each household receives a fresh loaf of bread representing the bread
of life through Christ and a bottle of water being symbolic of
Faith’s vision.
The Follow-Up
Care Calls team contacts our visiting guests three or four weeks
after a Bread Ministry visit, to see if they have any questions,
would like our newsletter, and just thank them again for visiting
Faith Community.
Faith Community Preschool -
Our Mission
Faith
Community Preschool provides a positive first-school experience for
children aged two to 5. Here children can meet new friends and learn
new skills while playing and learning in a loving Christian
atmosphere.
Concepts are
reinforced through music, art, dramatic play, stories, crafts and
learning games. Math and science awareness is also part of our
curriculum and field trips further enrich our children’s experience.
Faith’s preschool program enhances self-esteem and encourages
independence.
Parents also
play an important role in the Faith preschool experience and are
scheduled periodically throughout the year as parent-helpers.
For more
information, please contact the preschool office at 777-2726.
Registration is due late January to early February of each year.

Scouts
American
Heritage Girls
American
Heritage Girls’ Troops are groups of girls aged 5-18 who meet weekly
or biweekly to enjoy learning new skills, giving service, growing in
their faith, practicing leadership, experiencing teamwork, building
friendships, and strengthening character, The girls mentor one
another in a large group setting and then break into age appropriate
units to achieve that unit’s goals for each meeting This Christ
centered scouting organization is led by dedicated adult volunteers
who facilitate the AHG program while recognizing girls’ valuable
input.
AHG allows girls to put “legs on their
faith” thus becoming an outward sign of Christ’s love in their
community.
Faith Community’s Troop usually meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of
the month from 6:30-8:00 pm.
Our Faith Community Troop OH0356 abides by these foundational AHG
principles:

country, and serve in my community.

Preparation for Boy Scouts
Faith
Community has sponsored Cub Scout Pack 990 for more than 35 years
and this partnership has flourished due to the shared focus of
spirituality and character development.
Cub Scouts are
organized into packs and dens:
The Pack is a meeting of all involved boys and their families…on
average, there are 50-65 boys in the pack.
The Den is a
smaller, grade-specific group of 8-10 boys. Dens work on activities
and achievements.
Schedule
Cub Scout Pack 990 meets on the third
Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in Faith’s Community Room. Weekly
den meetings are scheduled by the individual leaders. Speak to
anyone who was a Cub Scout and he will be able to tell you about his
pack, his den leader and probably the best pine wood derby car he
ever built. Cub Scouting stays with you for life.
Boy Scouts
Troop 990
The Scouting
program provides many opportunities for young men to learn skills
and participate in terrific adventures.
Boy Scout
Troop 990 recognizes achievements by awarding badges of rank, the
highest of which is Eagle Scout. Each rank prepares boys to be
better campers, hikers and scouts.
Troop 990
provides an action-packed year with activities including
backpacking, orienteering, bike trips, fishing, campouts, caving,
scuba diving, canoeing and hiking. To become a
Boy Scout, boys must have completed 5th grade, or earned the Arrow
of Light Award or be between 11 and 18 years of age.
Schedule Troop 990 meets every Monday from 7-8:15 p.m. at Faith Community. In
addition, we have one weekend adventure per month and participate in
3-5 community service projects each year.
Upon joining, scouts become a member of a “patrol”…a group of 3-8
boys led by a patrol leader.
With Boy Scout Troop 990, there’s a lot of fun, friendships and
adventures waiting for you.
Kitchen Ministry
“Let me get you something to eat, so you can be
refreshed, and then go on your way now that you have come to your
servant.” Genesis 18:5
Our mission is to offer hospitality and refreshment as we serve and
assist the ministries of Faith Community.
The Kitchen Ministry at Faith Community is a team of men and women
who love to use skills for cooking and preparing food. Join us as we
practice hospitality!

Weddings
With our
dedicated "wedding team", Faith Community is committed to help make
your wedding day all you envision it to be. The pastors and wedding
counselor along with our wedding and music coordinators work
together to achieve a beautiful, meaningful service and a happy,
lasting marriage.
Faith
Community cherishes the opportunity to be a part of what God is
doing at the beginning of your life together. Couples do not need to
be members to get married at the church, but we would love to talk
with you about membership and all the available offerings if this is
not your church home.
Here are the
first steps to walk down the aisle:
Contact
the church office to determine the dates available
Confirm
the date with the officiating pastor
Ask the
church office for the wedding information packet
Complete
the request form inside the information packet with a
nonrefundable deposit of $100
Each wedding
couple then will meet with the pastor twice. The first to get
acquainted, answer questions and share ideas and dreams for the
wedding day. After this meeting, the wedding and music coordinator
will help integrate all the details into a cohesive and eloquent
service. One month prior to the wedding, couples again meet with the
pastor to review the ceremony.
There are fees
associated with the service, including the honoraria for the
minister, the organist/pianist, wedding coordinator, sound
technician and custodian with additional optional fees for soloists,
candles, etc.
Thank you for
considering Faith Community as the place to celebrate your
commitment to one another. |
