Worship Ministries
John 4:23-24
"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will
worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of
worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit and His worshipers must
worship in spirit and in truth."
The goal of
the Worship
Ministries is to connect people to the heart
of God. We encourage this connection through Sunday morning
Traditional and Contemporary services, Wednesday night Prayer
service, and the monthly Family service.
God calls to
each and every one us, and we worship and praise Him in ways that
are pleasing to our Father.

Contemporary Service -
Our Mission
To form a
healthy vessel that is committed to honoring God through worship and
bringing the Body of Christ into the presence of the Holy Spirit
through music and prayer.
Praise Choir
The Praise Choir of Faith Community sings a variety of praise and
worship songs to help lead the Contemporary worship services. The
choir, consisting of men and women over the ages of 12, helps the
church body lift our voices to the Lord.
The Praise Choir is
also available to sing and serve at other outreach activities.
Traditional Service -
Our Mission
Through music
our mission is to prepare the way for the Holy Spirit to enter the
hearts of worshippers.
Chancel Bells
Music is a vital part of the history of the United Methodist Church.
And the Chancel Bells like to continue this tradition by sharing
special music and accompanying hymns. The sound of the bells often
touches the heart of listeners in ways that words cannot.
About once a month the
Chancel Bells play, primarily at the traditional services. In
addition, members ring solos and organize small ensembles to play
for special occasions, including weddings.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir leads the congregation
in the traditional services through hymn and response singing, as
well as ministers with special music that spans the range of musical
styles and periods.
Through this music
ministry, the choir sings praise to God and believes in the power of
music to open a heart that has been hardened by life’s
disappointments or a soul saddened by loss. When sometimes words are
not enough, music is the key that unlocks that heart to the Holy
Spirit.
The British dramatist
William Congreve said a few centuries ago that "music has charms to
soothe a savage breast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak." And
that belief is continued today with the fine voices of Faith
Community’s Chancel Choir.
Men
of Faith
Minister through the joy of singing, and
in so doing, lift up Christ through song.
Started in 1992, the
Men of Faith now have about 20 full-time members of varied
backgrounds and talents. The group strives to glorify God through
performances at Faith as well as an extensive music outreach
program.
Men of
Faith have ministered in such diverse locations as:
Clermont County Jail
Cincinnati Reds Game
Twin Towers Home
Home for the Holidays
Maple Knoll Village
Heritage Village – Sharon Woods
Emmaus Community
Otterbein Community
The music ranges from
hymns, anthems, classical, barbershop, gospel, western, patriotic,
glee club, Christmas and spirituals, sung accompanied or a cappella.
Whatever the song, the
group enjoys brotherly fellowship and personal growth that comes
with practice, performance and outreach to share God’s glory.
Sounds of Faith
Sounds of Faith is a group of instrumental
musicians who enjoy playing together for the church and God’s glory.
The ensemble includes brass, woodwinds, strings, piano and
percussion.
While Sounds of Faith
generally ministers alone, the group occasionally supports other
musical groups such as the Chancel Choir and the Chancel Bells. The
group typically plays once a month during the school year, mostly in
traditional worship with music ranging from hymns through ensemble,
orchestral and stage-band arrangements.
Generally, the minimum
age requirement to join is 13 years, but all musical abilities are
welcome in the Sounds of Faith.
Adoration Support
Administration - Our Mission
Help connect people to the heart of God by
providing administrative services which support the Adore Ministry
teams.
The definition for the
spiritual gift of administration is: “The special ability that God
gives to certain members of the body of Christ to understand clearly
the immediate and long-range goals of a particular unit of the body
of Christ and to devise and execute effective plans for the
accomplishment of those goals.”
The Adore
Administration Support team works together to complete
behind-the-scene tasks that are necessary for worship to happen
every week.
Some
of the team’s administrative services include:
Duplicating CDs, Music
Computer Database Processing:
Adore Member Database
Music Library
Monthly Song Schedules
Mailings and Correspondence
Miscellaneous Projects
Worship Environment - Our Mission
To create, in the worship spaces, an
environment where all may feel encouraged by God’s presence.
The Worship
Environment Ministry team dreams, envisions and designs ways of
enhancing the sanctuary and CLC.
Team
members help prepares Faith Community’s worship spaces with:
Paraments
Altar Flowers
Seasonal Flowers such as Lilies and Poinsettias
Altar and Advent Candles
Worship Banners
Seasonal Decorations
Hanging of the Greens
Worship Experience - Our Mission
To create reverent and worshipful
experiences that help people come into the presence of, and worship
God.
The Worship Ministries
hope to give members of the congregation and our young people the
opportunity to serve the Lord by volunteering as:
Communion Stewards -
Assist the Lead Steward with all aspects of preparing and presenting
the elements used during the sacrament of communion.
Communion Servers -
Assist the pastors in serving communion elements to worshipers.
Acolytes - Youth and
children serve and participate in the worship service by lighting
and extinguishing the altar candles for the services.
Arts Ministries -
Our Mission
Usher people
into the presence of God.
Drama
Acts of Faith provides a way to recognize,
proclaim and portray that God is our King in a way that touches
hearts for God. The team uses skits and drama musicals in an
expressive, visual way that helps people connect to the heart of
God.
The group utilizes
talents and gifts of people for the "out front" ministry as well as
well as behind-the-scenes help with costumes, set building, props,
lighting and sound.
Dance
The Dance Ministry at Faith Community is
made up of two groups:
Living Waters - for women at least 22 years of age
Steps of Faith - for young women from 16 to 22 years of age
These dance teams
provide women an opportunity to express their love to God through
liturgical dance, while at the same time reaching out to seekers
hoping to open their hearts to our Lord.
Living Waters and
Steps of Faith participate in both traditional and contemporary
services as well as special outreach events.
Praise Signing
Praise signing involves using actual signs
of the deaf as well as other interpretive signs to literally sing to
the Lord with our hands. This helps people truly focus on the Lord
while the message of the song is seen and heard.
One of the most
important aspects of praise signing is simply learning a new way to
worship the Lord. The Hands of Faith Praise Signing ministry
participates on a quarterly basis in the traditional and
contemporary services as well as with other arts ministries in
special outreach events.
The Bible tells us to
"lift up holy hands" and Psalm 150 reads: "Let everything that hath
breath praise the Lord."
Banner
The Standards of Faith Banner Ministry is group who use their sewing
abilities to serve the Lord. This ministry creates costumes,
streamers, props and accessories fro the drama and dance ministries
and produces processional banners for Sunday services.
Lifting up banners is
a response to the command that we "make his praise glorious!" (Psalm
66:2) Used in worship, banners are designed to encourage and inspire
worship and elicit praise of the most-high God.
Psalm 20:5 "...and in
the name of our God, we will set up our banners!"
Music Ministries
Children’s Chimes - Our Mission
To prepare children to worship God through instrumental music.
The children who
participate in the Chimes Choir will learn of God’s love and awesome
attributes through the words and melodies of their music. This
unique hands-on musical opportunity teaches age-appropriate music
reading skills and team-building skills as the children play
together as a choir.
Directors provide a
fun, nurturing environment and present choir members with
certificates and awards as they improve in a variety of areas: good
chime posture, positive attitude, teamwork, and adoration for God.
The Chimes Choir ministers during worship services and special
events, sometimes alongside the adult hand bells.
Psalm 100 "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands."
Prayer Ministries
This house, in Matthew 21, doesn’t refer to a physical structure,
but instead means the people, the body of Christ who come together
to worship God, pray to God and connect to His heart. At Faith
Community, we want to be devoted to praying to God and for each
other so we will truly have a house of prayer.
We also acknowledge
that prayer is a two-way process which requires us to not only speak
with God, but to listen to the voice of God.
The Prayer Ministry
consists of four teams, each one having a specific prayer focus.
Each team is in community with God and with each other, all to the
glory, honor and delight of our Father!
The Congregation
Prayer Team - Prays for everything that occurs to make ministry
happen each time we come together for weekly, monthly and special
event worship.
The Ministries Prayer
Team - Prays for every WATERS ministry in the church, the Board of
Servant Leaders and our pastors.
The Body of Christ
Team - Prays for every person, family or friend that needs
additional support. This includes the Yellow Card prayers, the email
prayer chain, the blue bulletin prayer list and Early Bird prayers.
Outreach Prayer Team -
Prays for our schools, teachers, Faith’s Extension Ministry, world
events and more.
We also invite you to
utilize the Faith Community Prayer Room which is open during regular
church hours. In this quiet and spirit-filled refuge we hope you’ll
find a place to feel the presence of God. You are also welcome to
join in community with any of the Prayer Teams at any time.
